Empty the Shelters Sponsored by Bissell Pet Foundation!
May 4, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
We are very excited about this adoption event and with the great response we’ve had in the past, we expect the day to be very busy. We will do our best to provide quick and quality service and we will need your patience and cooperation to help things run smoothly. To help speed things along, here are some things you need to know…
Adoption fees are $25. All adoptions are first come, first served. No animals will be held or boarded. To be fair to everyone that is hoping to adopt today, you have 10 minutes to visit with an animal and talk to an adoption counselor and they agree it would be a good fit for your family. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption if we feel it would not be a good fit for the dog or for your family. You can visit with as many animals as you want but no animals will be held while you are visiting with another one.
Families will be limited to 1 cat or 1 dog per household.
If you rent, please have either your rental agreement or letter on hand with the Pet Policy highlighted or your landlord ready to answer a phone call from our adoption counselors. We must have approval from your landlord within the 10 minutes.
If you already have a dog and are adopting a dog, we recommend you bring your dog for a meet and greet before adopting. Once you have selected a dog, a meeting between the dogs will be conducted by our assessment staff. Please leave your dog in the car until the meet and greet can be done or have someone who can walk with it outside our facility. Keep the weather and temperature in mind. We are more than happy to do meet and greets before Saturday during our weekly open hours Mon-Fri from 11-7 pm.
If you have a cat and adopting a cat- we do not do cat meet and greets. Please leave your cats at home and bring a cat carrier with you.
If you have a cat and adopting a dog we can only do dog-cat assessments through the cat room window, adopt at your own risk. Please read “Bringing your new dog home” for more information in your adoption folder.
