DESCRIPTION:BISSELL Pet Foundation Announces Fall 2021 “Empty the Shelters” \nThe SPCA of Southwest Michigan is part of 180+ shelters participating in national event \n  \nKalamazoo\, MI – Wednesday\, October 6th – 9th— BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting its fall 2021 national “Empty the Shelters” adoption event Oct. 4 –10\, a quarterly effort that has helped more than 61\,781 pets find their forever homes in area shelters. During each nationwide event\, BISSELL Pet Foundation helps sponsor reduced adoption fees for $25 or less per dog\, cat\, puppy and kitten. This summer’s event will be hosted in more than 180 shelters in 35 states\, including the SPCA of Southwest Michigan. \n  \nEVENT SPECIFICATIONS. \n\nWednesday\, October 6th – Friday\, October 8th:  11:00am – 7:00pm.  Last adoptions done at 6:30pm.\nSaturday\, October 9th:  11:00am – 4:00pm.  Last adoptions done at 3:30pm.\nThe SPCA will participate 6 –9\, 2021 at 6955 W KL Ave\, offering $25 adoption fees for adult cats and dogs. This reduced fee does not apply to puppies or kittens. Puppies adoption fee’s are $280 and Kittens are $80.\nIf you rent your place\, please have a copy or original lease with you that states the pet policy.\nIn order to qualify for the discounted adoption fee of $25\, you will need to fill out the Bissell Survey.\nWe are a 1st come\, 1st serve and we do not put holds on any of our adult dogs/cats during this event.\n\n  \nThe “Empty the Shelters” event began in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet into their home. Since its inception\, BISSELL Pet Foundation has expanded its “Empty the Shelters” reach to organizations in 45 states and Canada\, partnering with a total of 414 shelters. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the SPCA 11th 5k  Annual Doggie Dash sponsored by Zhang Financial!  We are so excited to have you! \nPlacement medals will be assigned for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Winners are determined by the order in which they complete the race. \nPacket Pick Ups and T-Shirts can be picked up the week of the event from Monday\, September 13\, 2021 to Friday\, September 17\, 2021 from 1:00pm – 7:00pm. You can pick up your packets either at the SPCA location or on the day of the race at Spring Valley Park. \nRace begins at 10 am! This is a self-timed event. Be sure to check out other activities and vendors after your race! \nKids under 12 are free! Shirt not included. Extra t-shirts are available for purchase. Large group registration discounts available starting at 6 people or more. \nStrollers welcome. \nDog(s) not required to participate in the race. All dogs must be well behaved and leashed. Please review all requirements to bring your dog to the event. \nAll registrations fees are final. In the case of severe weather\, the race may be delayed up to 1 hour for the weather to clear. If hazardous conditions continue\, the race reserves the right to cancel without reschedule or refund. \nDog requirements: \nAll dogs must be at least 4 months of age and kept on a non-retractable\, 6ft or shorter leash at all times. Dogs must be current with all vaccinations. Owner must keep their dogs under control and clean up after their animals. Bags will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the SPCA 5k 10th Annual Doggie Dash!  We are so excited to have you! \nDue to the abundance of safety cautions that society is taking due to COVID 19\, we had to make our 5k completely Virtual.  We unfortunately will not be meeting at the Spring Valley Park as originally planned and deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are very disappointed about not being able to meet you all in person\, however\, we are looking forward to the challenge this pandemic is bringing and still plan on making this a fun and enjoyable race for you! \nWith us going 100% Virtual\, we need all participants to log into their profile and switch from the “Park” to “Virtual”. If you are having problems switching\, please send us an email and we will get you switched over. This will allow us to send reminder text messages throughout the race to submit your time results (for those who wish to track their time) with the link attached. \nPlacement medals will be assigned for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place winners once all timed results have been submitted. Winners will be contacted to set up a day/time to come out to receive your medal and get a picture taken. \nT-shirts can still be picked up before the race\, at our facility location at \nSPCA 6955 W KL Ave\, Kalamazoo\, MI 49009 starting Monday\, September 14\, 2020 – Friday\, September 18\, 2020 from 1pm – 7pm. \nThe most important announcement is to please visit our SPCA Facebook Page (facebook.com/spcaswmich) on Saturday\, September 19\, 2020 at 9:50am to be greeted “Live” by our Director and Volunteer Coordinator\, receive quick instructions\, cheer you on and start your race off with a BANG!  You will be able to freely interact with them via Live FB!  Invite your friends and family to come on as well to partake in cheering you on and enjoy the fun! \nRace begins at 10 am! This is a self-timed event. Be sure to check out back closer to the race to find out more about other activities taking place! \nFor Virtual Racers: This is open to anyone\, anywhere in the world. You must start your run/walk at the scheduled time for the race which is 10:00am EST. Even though this is not a timed race\, you are welcome to submit your time onto the app under “RESULTS”. \nPacket Pick Ups are scheduled for the week of the event from Wednesday\, September 16\, 2020 – Friday\, September 18\, 2020 from 1:00pm – 7:00pm. \nKids under 12 are free! Shirt not included. Extra t-shirts are available for purchase. Large group registration discounts available starting at 6 people or more. \nStrollers welcome. \nDog(s) not required to participate in the race. All dogs must be well behaved and leashed. Please review all requirements to bring your dog to the event. \nAll registrations fees are final. In the case of severe weather\, the race may be delayed up to 1 hour for the weather to clear. If hazardous conditions continue\, the race reserves the right to cancel without reschedule or refund. \nDog requirements: \nAll dogs must be at least 4 months of age and kept on a non-retractable\, 6ft or shorter leash at all times. Dogs must be current with all vaccinations. Owner must keep their dogs under control and clean up after their animals. Bags will be provided. In the instance where the dog(s) require medical attention at or after the event for any reason\, the owner is responsible for transportation\, medication\, treatment and hospitalization. The pet owners assume all risk and responsibility for any damages to person\, property or other animals caused by their dog(s).
