SPCA of Southwest Michigan

We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible adoption of homeless pets.  We rescue most of our homeless pets from Michigan pounds.  Once safely in our care, we restore our pets to health, treating a wide variety of medical problems.  All our pets are sterilized and brought up to date on required vaccinations.  When ready, we place our pets in responsible and caring homes, using a careful screening process.

The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization.  We receive no public funding or support from any national organization. Our operating budget derives from private donations and the service fees we charge at the time of adoption.  We rely on the hard work of volunteers for our success.

Our new pet rescue center at 6955 West KL Avenue in Oshtemo Township is now open and serving the Southwest Michigan community.  The campaign to finance this building project is ongoing.

We have seen strong adoption results over the last nine years, with a cumulative total of 9,866 adoptions as of December 31, 2010:

2002 (8 months only) 528 adopted animals
2003   701 adopted animals
2004 930 adopted animals
2005 1,037 adopted animals
2006 1,265 adopted animals
2007 1,518 adopted animals
2008  1,342 adopted animals
2009 1,410 adopted animals
2010  1,135 adopted animals
2011 YTD as of 7/31/11 596 adopted animals

The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is one of the largest and most productive pet rescue organizations in the state of Michigan.
